David Haye Boxing Shorts

David Haye Boxing Shorts

David Haye Boxing Shorts, The Hayemaker  is back and with a bang, fighting on Dave TV at the weekend, wearing Suzi Wong.  It was a fantastic evening at the o2 in London, with David knocking his opponent out in the first round.  No doubt this will help beat the drum for the Anthony Joshua fight in the near future.  What a British heavyweight boxing match that would be.

David contacted us and wanted something special, new, totally different that what he had had before.  It was an exciting project for us after never working with David before, we wanted to do something special, making sure the fit and design was perfect also for the big night.

We initially sent over some designs in colours he liked, black, white and gold.  We went over designs and farbic options, along with his branding and logos he wanted on there.  We then made a sample short to take down to London with us for a New Years day meeting.  This was a great day to meet and we came away with some clear ideas of what was wanted, along with having the perfect fit and style.

It’s always very important to a fighter to look good, wether amateur or professional, it’s a big think getting in the boxing ring, a show where all eyes are on you.  It’s a great time to go all out and make yourself look and feel that extra bit special after all the hard work.

The Fabrics and Design

We decided to go for something lightweight, initially we had made a sample in a velvet style, but David was conscious of the added weight and wanted something free and flowing that allowed him to move around freely in his crouch style he has adopted of the years.  He was very keen on the satin, with the black airtex leatherette, gold wetlook and new gold sparkle we have in stock at present, we also have this in black, red and silver.  It really takes effect under the lights and gives the effect of diamante all over the panels its used on.

We also took some different style jackets down to our consultation and he really liked the look and feel of the gown, Muhammed Ali style he called it.  He wanted this more simplistic that the shorts and opted just for a gold sparkle hood with gold wetlook trimming and black logos.

A gown is a great thing on a heavyweight boxer as it’s so classic, fits well, keeps the fighter warm going into the ring and gives the effect of a very big presence when worn.
