Melissa Raises £2,765 for The Christie Charity By Completing The Manchester Marathon

Melissa Anglesea, the Creative Director at Suzi Wong, has successfully raised £2,765 for The Christie Charity by participating in the adidas Manchester Marathon on April 27, 2025. Motivated by her sister’s year-long battle with breast cancer and the exceptional care provided by The Christie, Melissa aimed to give back to the institution that offered life-saving treatments and unwavering support during a challenging time.

Transitioning from her usual fell and trail running to road running presented a significant challenge for Melissa. Embracing the mantra, “If you can’t fly, run. If you can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, crawl. But by all means keep moving,” she demonstrated resilience and determination throughout her training and the marathon itself.

Raised Money From The Pink Runner Socks

A notable portion of the funds raised came from the sale of Suzi Wong’s special edition “Pink Runner” socks. These socks, designed to support breast cancer research and care at The Christie, were sold with 100% of the proceeds donated directly to the charity. The initiative not only contributed significantly to the fundraising total but also raised awareness for the cause.

Melissa’s efforts exemplify the impact of combining personal passion with community support. Her dedication to both her family and the broader fight against cancer serves as an inspiration to many.
