Anthony Fowler
Anthony was a fantastic amateur boxer, winning Gold with the GB squad at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, qualifying and competing at the 2016 Rio Olympics. He had over 200 amateur fights, coming from a true boxing city in Liverpool, and fighting out of the Golden Gloves Gym.
The Boxing Kit
Anthony told us in advance that he wanted to wear the traditional Liverpool colours of red and white after his football team and in respect of the 96 fans who lost there lives at Sheffield United club all those many years ago. As a symbol we put a Liver bird with the flames and 96 on the back of his gown.
We wanted to design something special for Anthony and he came in with the Sky crew who where doing a documentary on him at the time, so we prepared some design in advance to show him.
He likes the red leather and loved our new idea of the gown/robe, with a hood and clip buckle that fastens it. This gown is a new SW style and creation, we think its really smart and sits really nice, making it a timeless classic piece. You will 100% be seeing more of this design in SW.
The shorts he liked with a pattern on the sides, trimmed with a red and white fancy trim to set them off.
The waistband name we did with gold Austrian Crystals crystals, brought in from Austria, they really give the short that classy, luxury feel and set an piece off amazingly.
It was also really nice of Anthony to wear the #Manchester and the Bee on his debut kit, after the tragedy of the week, it was a great symbol of hope and peace.
