Christmas is fast approaching and the Suzi Wong team is now very busy getting any orders placed before the 18th December produced and dispatched. With the postal services being incredibly busy at this time, we can’t guarantee delivery before the big day, but please be assured we are doing everything we can to get your items dispatched as soon as we can. Last Dates For Ordering Before Christmas Any orders placed before 18th December will be dispatched in time for Christmas Delivery*. Between the 18th and the 20th we will endeavour to dispatch any simple items (such as socks, hats and hand-wraps) straight away. *Although we can’t be responsible for delays with shipping carriers, which are very common at this time of year. We will be posting right up until 20th with our providers Royal Mail and DHL Express. We would suggest ordering the Special Delivery Service later in December to ensure you get your items in good time as all services will be busy. Christmas Closing Times  The Suzi Wong studio will shut on Friday 22nd December to 8th January 2024.  During this time any ordered placed will be processed on our return. The team at Suzi Wong has made the decision not to take part in Black Friday 2023. Here we’ll explain a few reasons behind this decision and we’ll highlight exactly what we are doing instead to help our customers continue to purchase the best custom Boxing Shorts, Fightwear and Training Kit from Suzi Wong in the run up to Christmas. BLACK FRIDAY IN THE PAST In previous years the Suzi Wong team have taken part in Black Friday, offering huge discounts on all of the products on our site. These offers have been hugely successful and often resulted in the busiest week of our entire year. However, this short period with such large order numbers had a few negative effects. 2023 AT SUZI WONG This year has been one of our most successful years to date.  With Professional Fighters at the top of the sport choosing to enter the boxing ring time after time wearing Bespoke Suzi Wong Kit. Including Tyson Fury, to KSI, Tommy Fury, Jack Catterall, Jorge Linares, Chantelle Cameron, Tasha Jonas, Terri Harper and many more – our designs have once again graced the biggest stages of all this year. This continued success means that as a company, we don’t need to run a Black Friday sale. Increasing orders so drastically in a short space of time simply puts our team under unnecessary stresses. Our professional seamstresses and garment designers do a fantastic job at producing high quality garments time and time again. To ask them to increase their workload simply adds extra pressure, that could lead to mistakes. By removing this from our annual calendar this year, we are protecting the quality of our products for everyone. We often get asked this question, who is Suzi Wong? Suzi Wong, have been making custom boxing shorts for over 20 years. Located in North West England the company was started by husband and wife John and Susan. Still working in the business along side their two daughters Melissa and Rebecca and their team of amazing skilled staff. Suzi Wong is the name Johns Father gave to Susan when they first started dating and it stuck from there. Whilst thinking of a name for the company, Suzi Wong seemed to fit, it was a name linked with China (many people believe boxing shorts are all made there) and it was catchy, it stuck with people. Known world wide for custom boxing shorts made bespoke for fighters such as Dillian Whyte, Tyson Fury, Sunny Edwards, Zelfa Barrett, Liam Williams, Terri Harper, Sophie Alisch and many more, the brand has grown from humble beginnings. From Humble Beginnings Manufacturing is in the blood of the Suzi Wong family. John worked as a designer for Ellgren a sportswear company and Susan sewing since leaving school at the age of 15 together they had helped run huge factories in the North West alongside Johns Mum Mary and Susan’s Mum Francis, making sportswear for the likes of Nike, Adidas, Puma and many more brands when manufacturing was at its peak in the UK. They made everything from motocross trails pants, tops and jackets, to rugby shirts, football shirts and cricket whites. The family home was always a hive of activity with athletes from all sports coming in and out from Martin Offiah one of the best Rugby League players ever and Eddy Lejeune the Belgium motocross trails champion. UWCB The Ultimate Boxing Expereince Suzi Wong are proud to have been working alongside UWCB and UEvents for a number of years now. The work UWCB have done is amazing, not only for their chosen Charity Cancer Research UK, raising over 22million, but the confidence they give men and women to enter the ring, push themselves and have a great night at the end of it all. It great to see people taking part in the events, seeing everyones personal journey. Getting in shape to enter the ring and having an amazing evening alongside family and friends supporting them. We have been doing everything we can to keep the Suzi Wong Team safe whilst working.  It has become apparent that to maintain social distancing we need to shut Suzi Wong  from Tuesday 24th March for a short time.  Firstly we would like to thank the Suzi Wong Team and Family for all their hard work they have put in through this very testing and stressful time for us all.   We all live and breath Suzi Wong and boxing and without their positivity and cooperation we couldn’t have got through this.  Whilst we are closed our work force will all remain in their skilled jobs and we can’t wait to have everyone back in the studio together again soon. Whilst we are closed our website will remain open, and any orders we take will be dealt with by our director and sent out asap. We won’t be defeated by Covid-19 During this uncertain time with the Covid-19 outbreak worldwide, we want to let our loyal customers know that we are still open for business and we have put in place sensible measures to ensure that we stay open. We are actively monitoring the Coronavirus (Covid-19) situation and our top priority is to ensure the welfare of our employees whilst also ensuring that we continue to maintain the exceptional levels of quality and service that our customers have come to expect. Until further notice, we will be working reduced hours Monday-Wednesday 9-5pm  Site Access / Hygiene Access to the Suzi Wong studio is now limited as much as is practically possible and we are taking post deliveries only.  Drivers are given no access to the Suzi Wong building and we are practising social distancing as best we can. On arrival staff are expected to wash their hands, there are also bottles of hand sanitiser and wipes stationed around the building to ensure ongoing cleanliness. Staff have been distanced from one another as much as possible.  Customer visits Visits to the studio for custom kit appointments have now all be cancelled until further notice.  If you do require bespoke Boxing Shorts though, our design team are on hand via email to assist you with this and can send pictures of fabrics and work on designs without the requirement for face-to-face meetings. Suzi Wong Given the unpredictability of events such as these, we will continue to closely monitor the situation as it unfolds. If we need to take further measures to guarantee the continuity of production and product delivery, we will do so.
